A different kind of silhouette

Balhsa is a table lamp that holds its own as an object. Its tall marble base curves outward towards the bottom, while a broad, shallow cream shade introduces a horizontal line near the top. A small section of stone continues above the shade, making the silhouette particularly distinctive.

Neutral-toned marble meets cream-coloured iron. The contrast is as much about shape as colour: a substantial stone curve beneath a restrained metal disc. We like the way the design feels expressive without relying on a bright finish.

Where we would place it

At 72 cm high, Balhsa has enough presence to become a focal point on a sideboard or a generous console. We would place it against a relatively simple wall so its outline has room to stand out.

Its overall footprint is 36 × 36 cm. Check the depth of your surface and any shelving above before choosing its position. We would avoid crowding the base with lots of smaller accessories.

Our styling take

We would pair Balhsa with warm wood, pale upholstery and a single colourful artwork. The cream shade could soften a darker corner, while the marble introduces a more graphic element into a quiet room.

For a bolder arrangement, we would try it alongside an expressive sculpture, keeping some empty space between the two. A pair of very different shapes can be more interesting than a row of matching objects.

Practical details

The lamp uses two E27 bulbs, which are not included, and has a 160 cm cable. The lampshade is a detachable part. These details are useful when planning its position and choosing the light sources.
