A little company for your console

Sit Down turns a familiar seated pose into something unexpected. Its smooth, rounded head sits above an elongated body, while the legs drop over the edge of the furniture. The simple outline gives it a presence of its own: we see a relaxed character taking a moment to watch the room.

Made from resin, the sculpture has a metallic finish that moves from lead grey to orange. The reflective surface catches different tones from its surroundings. Against a quiet background, the rounded head and long limbs do most of the work, with colour adding another point of interest.

How we would style it

We would give Sit Down one end of a console or sideboard, leaving the legs clearly visible below the surface. A pale wall and a simple piece of furniture would let the silhouette stand out. Rather than surrounding it with lots of small ornaments, we would add just a low bowl or a short stack of books further along the top.

For a warmer room, we would pair the orange tones with timber, cream upholstery and a restrained amount of black metal. The amber glass of the Koda Table Lamp could pick up that warmth elsewhere in the room. We would keep the two pieces apart so each has space to be appreciated.

In an entrance hall, we like the idea of this figure becoming the first playful detail you notice. In a living room, it could interrupt the straight lines of a long sideboard. These are our styling suggestions; its best position will depend on the furniture and the space around it.

Plan for the dangling legs

The overall height is 62 cm, including the legs. Check the clearance below your chosen surface as well as the space above it, and avoid positioning the figure where a drawer or cupboard door would catch the legs. Choose a stable display surface away from busy edges.
